1. Product Information

Why vegan and no animal testing?

It is not required by law to perform any animal testing. Companies formulating with synthetic ingredients perform animal testing to identify the level of toxicity of a particular compound. However, research has shown that oftentimes what is toxic to animals is not necessarily toxic to people.

We avoid animal-derived ingredients, and believe that you can get all you need for beautiful skin from plants and nature. Some animal-derived ingredients can be occlusive or irritating, with sensitive individuals developing dermatitis (for example, lanolin). 

Besides being safer and nourishing for your skin, plant-based skincare has an added benefit - you feel good about your beauty products, inside and out.

What is the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian?

A vegetarian does not eat any animal. This includes pigs, chickens, cows, sea animals, and every other animal. In addition to not consuming any animal flesh, a vegan also doesn't consume any dairy products, eggs, or any other product derived from an animal such as honey and beeswax. A vegan also avoids using products that have been tested on animals or made from animal skins.

Are all products vegan?

Not all of them. The 100 Percent Pure Honey & Virgin Coconut Restorative Shampoo and Conditioner contain honey and are suitable for vegetarians.

Do the natural & organic skin care products require refrigeration?

All the natural skin care products are stable at room temperature and do not require refrigeration, but some of them contain precious oils and all natural oils can go rancid. The products will stay fresher longer if kept in a cool, dark place.

Why is organic important when it comes to ingredients for my skin?

Organic plants have shown to have 40% more antioxidants than conventional plants. How a plant is grown is important in organic skin care, and it is also of paramount importance about what happens to that ingredient after it is grown. Organic skin care – No toxins, more antioxidants and nutrients.

Do natural and organic ingredients in the formula offset preservatives, emulsifiers and other synthetic chemicals?

No. Natural and organic ingredients do not offset the effects of the synthetics in the formula. Good ingredients do their part, while synthetic ingredients do what they are designed to do and are not neutralized or altered by the presence of good ingredients. For example, even if all the components are organic or natural, the addition of parabens can still pose health risks and phthalate-containing parfum/fragrance can cause a health hazard too.

Is it true that organic and natural products do not perform as well as conventional?

Formulators are able to tap into extensive body of scientific research and hundreds of years of empiric evidence testifying the effectiveness of plant-based ingredients nowadays. Most chemicals are synthesized to replace more expensive organic and natural ingredients that contained no nourishing value. These chemical can cause skin and health problems. "Performance" that is touted by manufacturers usually comes down to unnaturally long shelf life, fine texture, immediate absorption (mainly due to high water content), synthetic fragrance and foaming abilities – all these do not contribute to skin nourishment, regeneration, and protection.

All products at VegwithMeg are very concentrated and made with high quality ingredients, so you do not have to use a lot - a little goes a long way. This help you to save more money as a result.

Why do the products look or smell different from last time?

The ingredients are made from plants and fruits and that can make the colour and smell vary. These are normal and do not reflect a change in the formulation or its efficacy. If you have powerful senses, you may detect small differences from batch to batch.

Are the products safe for people who are sensitive to gluten?

Yes. The products are made from plants, fruits and precious oils and therefore are suitable for people with sensitivity to gluten.

Are the products safe for people who have extremely sensitive and allergic skin?

Our products do not contain any chemical or toxin that is harmful to our skin, and most of the products are suitable for sensitive skin. It is difficult to gauge exactly how sensitive skin will react as each individual is different, so it is recommended to do a patch test for compatibility prior to using any new products. The side of the neck is a good starting point as it is thinner and generally more reactive. If it can be tolerated on your neck, it is also likely fine to use it on the face.

Should you encounter any negative reactions such as an itchiness, red rashes, please stop using the product immediately.

Are the products safe to use during pregnancy?

Every woman is different, and responds differently during the time of pregnancy. Our products do not contain any toxins, and we would recommend you to use the products in the Mother & Baby Care range. However, we would advise that if you have any concerns, you should speak to your health care practitioner.

Do the products have an expiry date?

Our products feature all natural ingredients and we steer clear of any synthetic preservatives. Therefore the best before dates range between 12 to 36 months, dependent on the product type. Please refer to the product packaging for best before range.

It is best to use the products within 6 months of opening.

How should I store the products?

We would advise the products to be stored in cool, dry and dark environments to ensure they maintain their freshness and efficacy.

What is a natural perfume and how does it differ from a ‘normal’ perfume?

A natural perfume is one that is made solely from natural ingredients with no synthetics or chemicals added. The natural ingredients are most likely botanicals and are in the form of essential oils, absolutes or CO2 extractions. They come from the twigs, stems, leaves, roots, flowers, fruits or seeds of the plant. Aromatic plant material may be processed in one of the following ways – steam distillation, CO2 extraction, solvent extraction, cold pressing, enfleurage, or maceration.

A ‘normal’ perfume is made largely from synthetic or chemical ingredients. These aromatic compounds are produced in a laboratory and although their fragrance is based on the aromas of their natural counterparts, there is nothing natural about them. Many perfume companies will go to some lengths to try and convince you that their products are made with natural ingredients.

Natural perfumes have a lovely way of interacting with the chemistry of the wearer’s own skin and body. Only wearers of an all-natural perfume will have this wonderful, rather intimate experience with their fragrance.

What is the shelf life of the natural perfumes?

If you keep your natural perfume in a place that is not too hot and out of direct sunlight, it will last for about 2 years from the time you start using it.

2. Making your order

Do I need to set up an account to place an order?

Registering online has its advantages, and here are some of them:

• Make future purchases quicker as you will never need to fill in your account information again

• Being a VegwithMeg member, you can enjoy the member benefits and any special promotions where applicable

How do I make a purchase?

Once you have found the item(s) that you wish to purchase, select 'add to cart'. When you are ready to complete your order, click on the ‘My Cart / Checkout’ option, which is on the top right of your screen, and click ‘Checkout’. If you do not have a registered account with us, you will be asked to register through the express checkout option. You will need to enter the details necessary to complete your order.

If you already have an account registered with us, you may be asked to login, and then proceed to ‘Checkout’. Ensure that all of your address, order and payment details are correct and then confirm your order.

What payment method does VegwithMeg accept?

We accept Paypal and Bank Transfer. PayPal integration service is the faster, safer and easier way to pay online. For Bank Transfer payment, please provide a clear screenshot of the transaction receipt within 12 hours upon making your orders.

How will I know you received my order and when will payment be deducted?

You will receive an order confirmation email, within 24 hours of your order being placed. If you have not received this email, check your junk mail filter. Alternatively, your order may be on hold, in which case you will receive an on hold email from us.

Payment is taken at the time you place your order.

When do I have to make payment once an order is submitted?

Payment is to be made within 2 days after an order is submitted. If payment is not made after 2 days, we will treat your order as void and proceed to cancel your order.

How can I retrieve my order number?

In the ‘my Account’ area, you can view your current order or order history to find your order number. We also send an order confirmation email to the email address your account is registered to. This email includes your order number.

Can I add items to an existing order?

Unfortunately no. We aim to dispatch your order as quickly as possible so we do not allow you to add items to an existing order. The easiest way to add items is to create a new order.

Can I cancel an order once it has been submitted?

Your order cannot be cancelled or change once it has been submitted.

3. Setting up an Account

How do I register?

Simply click on ‘Register’ and you will be directed to the Registration Page. Registration is free of charge. Email address provided must be valid in order to receive the activation email.

Why have I not received my Activation Email?

The Activation email may be located in your Spam/Junk/Bulk mail folder.

1. Login to your email account and delete all content in your Spam/Junk/Bulk mail folder.

2. Add info@vegwithmeg.com into your address book.

3. Visit vegwithmeg.com and click on "Activate My Account" on top of the page.

The Activation email will be re-sent to your email account. If you still have not received the activation email after following the steps above, pls send us an email at info@vegwithmeg.com

I have forgotten my password, how can I retrieve it?

If you have forgotten your password, choose the 'forgotten password' link on the account login/register page. We will send you an email containing your password. We recommend that once you login you change your password immediately to ensure your information remains private and secure.

I can't sign into my account?

If you are having problems signing in to your account, ensure that you are entering the correct email address and password for your existing account. If you continue to have problems logging in, try sending a 'forgotten password' reminder to your email address to ensure you have the correct email and password for login. Is my information secure and private?

At VegwithMeg, we take care to protect your privacy and secure your information. We will not disclose your personal details to third parties. However, there are additional security measures we advise our customers to adopt in order to enhance online security.

These include:

• Ensuring your internet browser is up-to-date with the latest version

• Choosing unique passwords, keeping them private, and changing them frequently

• Investing in a reputable anti-virus software program and ensuring all updates are installed

If you are ever concerned that you have been the victim of fraudulent activity, contact your bank immediately to ensure your credit cards are cancelled.

4. Shipping & Delivery

What are the delivery charges?

VegwithMeg strives to provide a quick, safe and convenient delivery service to your front door or the delivery location of your choice.

For Singapore customer, delivery is free of charge with any order above SG$60. For orders less than SG$60, a flat rate of $4 applies.

For International customer, our website will automatically calculate the shipping cost on checkout.

Any fees charged by customs are the sole responsibility of the customer.

As part of our green commitment, your order may be shipped in recycled / biodegradable packaging or in boxes and materials that we received from other incoming shipments.

All product prices quoted are inclusive of GST.

Can I change my delivery address after my order has been dispatched?

No. Once an order has been dispatched, the delivery address cannot be changed. This is because your order has already been packed and may have left our warehouse.

Has my order been dispatched yet?

When we dispatch your order, we will send a dispatch confirmation email to the email address which your account is registered to.

Can I track my order?

We use Aramex as one of our couriers and a tracking number is provided with each international delivery.

Which countries does VegwithMeg deliver to?

We deliver to Australia, Brunei, Canada, China, Europe, Hongkong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam. We are looking to increase our shipping destinations, so please get in touch with us if your country does not fall in the list.

How fast will my order arrive?

We ship within 1 to 3 working days when we received the orders. Local orders can take 3-5 working days to arrive while international orders can take 7-14 working days.

Orders placed on a Singapore public holiday, Saturday or Sunday will be shipped on the next working day. Delivery may take longer than 7 working days for items which are out of stock. We will contact you accordingly. If we are unable to fulfill your orders within the stipulated time frame, we will contact you for further instructions.

5. Product Returns

Can I return a product?

We do not take returns on any opened items or exchange with other products. We recommend that you contact us regarding any concerns that you have to ensure you get the right products before submitting your order.
